Who publishes this

Everything on this site is published by Seattle Trim Repair. We are the publisher of record and we stand behind every claim on every page. If something here is wrong, it is ours to fix.

The guides describe how this crew actually works — the sequence we follow, the materials we hang, and the judgment calls we make on a wall. Where a guide states a preference, it is our preference, and it is there because a homeowner asked us the same question on a driveway.

Where the numbers come from

Climate figures — rainfall totals and the number of wet days a year — come from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration 1991–2020 Climate Normals for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the official long-term station for this area. Those pages link to the source so you can check the figure yourself.

Material performance claims — service life, moisture behaviour, maintenance intervals — come from the manufacturers whose products we install, and from the trade documentation that governs how those products must be fitted to keep a warranty intact.

Prices are ranges drawn from the kind of work we do in this market. A range is not a quote. Nobody can price a repair honestly without seeing the wall, because the cost is set by how far the damage runs past what you can see.

Photographs

Every job photograph on this site is our own work, shot on site. None of it is stock photography, and none of it is staged.

Where a page shows a before and after, both frames are the same corner of the same house at the same aspect ratio. We do not pair a bad photo of one property with a flattering photo of another — a comparison only means something if the two frames are honestly matched.

Reviews

The reviews on this site are unedited screenshots taken from our Google Business Profile. We do not retype them, trim them, or select only the flattering sentences from a longer review.

We deliberately publish no star rating and no review score anywhere on this site, and no rating markup in the page code. A rating a business awards itself, with no verifiable review text behind it on the page, is not evidence. The screenshots are the evidence, and you can check them against the profile they came from.

Dates

Every page carries the date its content was last revised. That date changes when the content changes. It does not change when the site is rebuilt or redeployed, because a rebuild does not alter a word and re-dating a page that way would tell you something untrue.

What we will not publish

We hold the content on this site to a short list of rules:

• No invented case studies. A project write-up describes a real job we did.
• No written testimonials we composed ourselves, and no quote attributed to a customer who did not say it.
• No photographs of work performed by someone else presented as ours.
• No statistic, price, or measurement we cannot point to a source for.
• No credential, certification, or award we have not actually been granted.

Corrections

If you find an error — a number that looks wrong, a material claim that does not match your experience, a detail about a neighbourhood that is out of date — call the office and tell us. There is no editorial inbox to write to; the phone is the fastest way to reach someone who can change the page.

When a correction is warranted we fix the page and move its revision date to the day we changed it, so you can see that it was reviewed. If a fix is substantial, we say what changed in the body of the page rather than editing quietly.

Conflicts of interest

We are a contractor. We are paid to repair and replace exterior trim and siding, so treat our advice with the scepticism you would apply to any tradesperson who benefits from the work being done.

That cuts both ways, and we try to be useful about it: several guides on this site describe repairs a homeowner can reasonably do without us, explain when a full replacement is a false economy, and name the cases where the cheaper repair is the right call. We are not paid by any manufacturer to recommend their product, and no page on this site carries advertising or an affiliate link.
